I am so excited I had to blog this: 

alrighty!  So, some of you know I took Kajukenbo because I needed to so many years ago. Kajukenbo is basically street fighting martial arts.  Well, our beloved Sifu passed away and I haven’t found anywhere that fit. Well, there was a place… but it’s in Tracy and I’m not sure I’d be able to get there regularly.  It’s rude to say you’ll be there and not show.

So, long story short… I found a brand new Kajukenbo school opening right down the street from me.  Daniel and I stopped in and talked to the Sifu there and I am so totally excited!  I start Thursday.  It’s very difficult to find one teaching Gaylord’s method out here.

Ofourse my concern was – um, is this weight going to be an initial problem?  I was at 145lbs and extremely in shape when I ended the nightly rituals of working out.  I’m extremely off of that now.

It will take some months, but if it’s the same type of workout that I used to have, dropping the weight isn’t an issue.  It’s learning how to dodge the kicks, swords and punches are the hard parts!

Anyway, wish me luck.  I feel as if it magically fell into place – so close!  

So, Kajukenbo, Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Kick Boxing and Senkotiros (Philippine stick and knife fighting) and also weapons (escrima?) are in the curriculum as they have listed.  Very interesting format to be sure.  My background was Kajukenbo.  However, at this point I’d say I don’t know a thing! 

Yeah!  My first class is Thursday night.  I’ll try to blog after if I can.
